Accademia Carrara

In a recently renovated neoclassical building, in the neighborhood of artists and antique shops, just below the Upper Town, connected to the Venetian walls and Porta S. Agostino by the Roman fleets of Noca, the Accademia Carrara Art Gallery is one of the most important Italian art galleries, and certainly the most prestigious cultural resource of the city.
Created by Count Carrara at the end of the eighteenth century, later completed by the collections Lochis, Merelli and Zeri, home to masterpieces by great masters from 1400 to 1800 – Mantegna, Pisanello, Bellini, Carpaccio, Raphael, Botticelli, Lotto, Titian, Moroni, Fra Galgario, Baschenis, Canaletto, Guardi, Hayez – but also thematic tours with different subject: landscapes, fashion, faces, women, loves …
Opening hours: from 10.00 to 19.00, last entrance at 18.00
Closed on Tuesdays and December 25
Special opening: December 8, December 26, December 31 (open until 14.00, last entrance at 13.00), January 1, January 6.
